My Escuincle
story talks about the time when my granddaddy died of a heart
attack. He started feeling pain in his chest and he was assisted
by some persons to sit down in a chair in the living room. At
that time, I approached him and he tells me “M’ija,
go to my room in the top floor and turnoff the TV.” I was
only 6 years old and as soon as I listened to him I went upstairs
to turn it off. I have to climb on the bed to reach it because
mi arm was a little too short. When I was coming back down the
stairs, I noticed that mi granddaddy was being taken away in his
chair by two people. I only saw the back of his head as he was
being transported. I never saw his face again alive. Next morning
my Mom took me to the place where the wake for my granddaddy was
being held. One of the first things I noticed was one of those
tall ashtrays they use for this ceremonies. It was the fisrt time
I saw my granddaddy dead. It has been one of the most shocking
moments of my life. |

I
studied graphic design in Chile. I Saint because i have been in
love with color and shapes for a long time. Painting is the form
to express the feelings I have inside. Life by paint strokes.
Strokes filled with color that stands out and shapes that run
into each other
