childhood story

My childhood was split into two worlds, music and soccer. Each one of these was influenced by my mother and father. I distinctly remember my mother’s emphasis on my musical education. She wanted me to be a great musician. On the other hand my dad wanted me to be a star soccer player. In this way, I would get gifts from them that would include a guitar and a soccer ball, a music book and a pair of cleats. When I was a kid I preferred soccer and I would leave the house saying I was going to guitar classes, but I would end up playing soccer in the street with my friends. I would come home sweaty and tell my mom that I practiced so hard it made me sweat! I was so good at soccer that I got to play professionally, however an injury prevented me from continuing on this path. Unable to play soccer, I went back to playing music. These two things remain a strong influence today.
